Mi Vami, Sunninghill, Johannesburg

My friend and I went to Mi Vami in Sunninghill few days back for getting some Shawarma. We placed our orders for a Chicken Shawarma, Beef Shawarma and a Falafel.

Chicken Shawarma: Ok Ok kind. First time I had a Shawarma made with chunks of meat, instead of shredded meat. Made me crave more for the shawarmas I used to get back in India

Beef Shawarma: My friend was the one who had it. He felt it was very average.

Falafel: 2 bites and we felt like gagging. It had a very sour taste and somehow didn’t click. This one went to the bin.

Total bill: R 150 and odd.

VFM: Most definitely not.

Quantity: 4/5

Taste: 2/5

Quality: 2/5

Service: 4/5

Will I visit this place again? – Most definitely not.

Chili's, Royapettah

Chili’s comes to Chennai Following the trend of popular International restaurants chains opening up shop in the busy city of Chennai, Chili’s,a Tex Mex chain of restaurants recently opened their doors in Express Avenue, Royapettah. While Chili’s is not new to India, I guess this could very well be the first or one of the few Chili’s in the world that doesn’t serve Alcohol. Yes, the curse of No-Alcohol that Chennai places on every restaurant has affected Chili’s too. When I was first contacted by a friend of mine for a tasting session here, I wasn’t very sure. But on reading more about them, I was completely enamored and wanted to try them out. The review day came, and I duly caught an Uber and reached here by 1.02 PM for my 1.00 PM appointment (I know I’m getting too close to being punctual these days, oh the horror !) MC's Lunchbox, Porur

Update : Got a call from the MC’s Lunchbox team, assuring me that they’ll be taking corrective action on this issue and will keep training sessions for their delivery folks (who, it appears, are outsourced) to ensure this doesn’t happen. Keeping this in mind, updating my rating to reflect more on the food and less on the delivery. Food: 3.5/5 Delivery: 2.5/5 (For now). Personal opinion: Considering the efforts the team has taken to go through the feedback in detail, take corrective measures, and keep the customers informed about it, I’m more than willing to try MC’s Lunchbox again. ==================================================================== Tried out MC’s Lunchbox for dinner delivery last week, for 3 days. Chose the delivery time as 9 PM – 10 PM, as that’s when I’d like to have my dinner (and also because I work on the night shift). Food: The rotis are good, the gravies are passable.
