Shaack, Anna Nagar

I’ve been to Shaack in Anna Nagar about 3 or 4 times, and I’ve ordered home delivery from them, another 3 or 4 times over a period of almost 1 year. Except for one instance where their delivery person messed up big time, my experience with Shaack has been consistently phenomenal throughout.

Before I go into elaborating my most recent experience, let me tell you one thing about Shaack: Shaack is one place where you just cannot go wrong. Be it their Italian, be it their Pan Asian Cuisine, everything is just perfect. I’m not a big fan of Pan Asian cuisine, but Shaack completely changed my perspective.

Now for the experience (I’ll keep it as short as possible, giving you more time to go through the food shots)

In our most recent visit, we ordered for: Pho Soup Veg, Cajun Spiced Potato Wedges, Clay Pot Rice Veg, Malay Potato Curry, Tender Coconut Souffle, Red Velvet Cake in a Jar. In our previous visits, the dish we had enjoyed the most was Blackened Cottage Cheese Steak with Herbed Rice which was phenomenal to say the least.

Cajun Spiced Potato Wedges: Wow, a spicy potato wedges, which did a Bharatanatyam on our taste buds, leaving us craving for more.

Tender Coconut Souffle: This one just slid down our throats 😀

Red Velvet Cake in a Jar: Well, this one was quite good, but truth be said, the best Red Velvet Cake in Chennai I’ve had so far, was from California Pizza Kitchen in Velachery (Review here)

Service: Impeccable every single time

Ambiance: Bright and soothing

Shaack is a must try place. Try it once, and you won’t regret it !

Update : Got a call from the MC’s Lunchbox team, assuring me that they’ll be taking corrective action on this issue and will keep training sessions for their delivery folks (who, it appears, are outsourced) to ensure this doesn’t happen. Kebab Corner, Greams Road

This is somewhat an old review, so I’ll keep it as short as possible. My friend Asif and I went here on a rainy day, straight from office, as he was craving for Kebabs, and wanted to have the best Kebab that he can get in Chennai that night. I checked Zomato, and found this place rated quite high. Though it was a fair distance away from our usual route, we decided to make the trip and we were glad we did. I ordered Malai Paneer tikka, while he went for a Chicken kebab. While I found the Malai paneer tikka decent, it wasn’t anything out of the ordinary. My friend said he found the Chicken kebab extremely good ! So that’s it folks ! The place is quite light on your wallets, total VFM and deserves a 4/5 ! [fb_album id=”1093932570618492″]

Foodie 2015 - Year in Review

Foodie 2015 A fellow foodie buddy of mine Rajiv Shankar started a discussion on reviewing last year from our foodie perspective.
