Parfait 3, Kilpauk

Image
A Sammienatorr  invite for a cake mixing session got me on my way to Parfait 3 in Kilpauk, and surprisingly, deviating from my usual behaviour, I was later than late this time, and reached there about 1 hour and 10 mins after the agreed time 😛 Naturally most people had settled down by then and gorging on food. I placed an order for Mango Mint Smoothie, Broccoli fritters and Veg Creamy Tomato Pasta. The Mint smoothie came first as a godsend to my parched throat and hungry stomach. The crispy and lovely Brocolli fritters followed next. Now the wait started for the pasta (I’ll come later, to why this bit is important), while I was waiting, I naturally started sharing the food from nearby plates out of sheer hunger. Eventually dessert platter came (Or should I say their entire stock of lovely desserts came?) and I started having my way with the various cakes on display. Finally, once I was almost done, the steward came to me asking if he can continue with my Pasta order (Adei, why th...

Mamagoto, Nungambakkam

Image
Note: A fellow foodie buddy got an invite to try out Mamagoto in Nungambakkam couple of days back, and he invited us in turn to try it out. The dishes were on the house, but the opinion expressed here is my own. For the new comers, Mamagoto is located in KNK, a uber-premium locality in the super premium Nungambakkam, and their ambiance as well as pricing reflects that. It isn’t without reason that KNK, Nungambakkam is called as the  Times Square of Chennai.  6 of us from 6 different corners of Chennai assembled at different times catching flight/bike/helicopter as applicable to reach Nungambakkam on time (Though I reached around 40 mins late, thanks to not catching a helicopter on time) Food: We mostly went with the steward’s suggestions for the dishes, pitching in only when a specific starter/drink caught our attention. I would be reviewing the dishes that I tried personally (Which is quite big I assure you ! ) Virgin Sangria – Apple –  A whiff of alcohol, thou...

Little Italy, Anna Nagar

This is a fairly old review, so I’ll keep it short. I’ve been to Little Italy in Anna Nagar, couple of times and I’ve placed home delivery order from them quite a few times in the past. Every single time, they’ve impressed me with their consistency and awesome food. Cheese Fondue is one thing that I love a lot but priced at around Rs. 500, you must be wary around it. But just one portion of this would feed one moderate eater or in case you’re a light eater, single portion would fill up 2 of you. Canneloni Alla Florentina is another dish that I relish a lot, and together, Cheese Fondue and Canneloni have been a part and reason of my home delivery orders from Little Italy. There aren’t many pure vegetarians options when it comes to Non Indian cuisines, but taking Italian and Mexican cuisines as their only offering, Little Italy has really nailed it and is a big treat for vegetarian lovers ! Cafe H, Anna Nagar (Home Delivery)

Image
Few weeks back, I was looking for home delivery options for dinner around Anna Nagar and the name “Cafe H” caught my eye as I was noticing it for the first time. I quickly glanced through the menu and ordered for a  Chilli Cheese Garlic Toast and  Four Country Cheese Pizza. Chilli Cheese Garlic Toast:  This was pretty nice really, with the spicy flavor settling into it. Cheese flavor was rich and overall, for Rs. 80, this was total VFM. Four Country Cheese Pizza:  Sadly though, this was average at best. Priced at Rs. 270 for a small portion (with Jalapeno and Olives toppings extra), this was such a let down, especially after the expectations set by Chilli Cheese Garlic Toast. The amount of cheese for  cheese pizza  was less to be honest, and I honestly felt it wasn’t worth more than half that price. Rating: Taste: 3/5 Cost: 3/5 VFM: 3/5 Delivery Service: 4/5 Overall: 3/5 [fb_album id=”1103383173006765″ order=”asc”]

Shanghai Annachi, Nungambakkam

Image
We, being a bunch of crazy foodies, wanted to catch up for a chat and some good food after the few looong weeks. We polled few dozens of options and finally (and dictatorially) decided on Shanghai Annachi, a Chettinese (Chettinad-Chinese) restaurant in Nungambakkam. Event invites were sent out for 12.00 PM, earliest arrival was 12.30, I went in around 1.30 and my dear friend Ajit, saved my face by coming in later than I did 😀 Surprisingly, people were just getting started with their orders then. Me and my compadre-in-food duly ordered for a  Milagai Paneer varuval, Chicken Karandi, Veg Kothu Parotta . Milagai Paneer Varuval –  Imagine a slightly sour paneer bajji with all spicyness missing. That’s what this was. Y’all Milagai was missing in the Milagai Paneer Varuval :/ At Rs. 190, it was a total disappointment. Chicken Karandi –  Cold, Average: that’s how my friends who tasted dish rated it. It’s basically a fusion of Chicken and Omelette (As...
