MC's Lunchbox, Porur

Image
Update : Got a call from the MC’s Lunchbox team, assuring me that they’ll be taking corrective action on this issue and will keep training sessions for their delivery folks (who, it appears, are outsourced) to ensure this doesn’t happen. Keeping this in mind, updating my rating to reflect more on the food and less on the delivery. Food: 3.5/5 Delivery: 2.5/5 (For now). Personal opinion: Considering the efforts the team has taken to go through the feedback in detail, take corrective measures, and keep the customers informed about it, I’m more than willing to try MC’s Lunchbox again. ==================================================================== Tried out MC’s Lunchbox for dinner delivery last week, for 3 days. Chose the delivery time as 9 PM – 10 PM, as that’s when I’d like to have my dinner (and also because I work on the night shift). Food: The rotis are good, the gravies are passable. VFM for the price paid (incl. delivery) ...

Papa John's, SP Infocity, Perungudi

Image
It was a fateful day when my friend and I were forced to visit the Papa John’s outlet in SP Infocity, Perungudi. Papa John’s have redefined pocket-friendly by introducing real pocket sized pizzas at abnormal rates so that no one ever asks for pocket friendly options again. As it was quite late, and even the Subway here had shut down, Papa John’s was the only dinner option left for me and I ordered for 2 Regular sized Veg Pizzas. Rate mentioned in the menu was Rs. 165, incl. taxes, it came to Rs. 200 each, Rs. 400 in total. Typically when someone says Regular I expect around 8 – 9″. This was super small (as you can see from the picture). I was shell-shocked at the size. Papa John’s Pizza Taste:  I honestly couldn’t feel any taste in their pizzas either. It was just hot, with some cheese and veggies thrown in haphazardly. Service:  Though it’s technically self-service, the attitude of the person manning the billing counter was quite bad. Whe...

ETC Restaurant & Cafe, Nungambakkam

Bloggers Meet @ ETC Few weeks back, Chennai Bloggers Club (CBC) organized a tasting session at ETC restaurant and cafe in Nungambakkam, as part of their seafood festival that was going on at that time When I first heard about it, I was excited as it was new to the CBC group and it was my chance to meet the people at an environment I love. So I packed my bags and landed in RMZ, which was couple hundred meters away from my office. Over here I met my friend Rajiv who gladly gave me a ride in his private jet (Commonly known as a Scooter) As soon as our jet landed at ETC, we met up with a bunch of CBC folks and when we went in & saw the menu, we realized it was a seafood menu (Dei, I was not ready da) Luckily they had a tasting menu for us vegetarians (Which was most – Another surprise) and thus the review can now happen without getting pelted by more stones from y’all Eat, Drink, Chatter ETC We kicked off the session with a creamy, yummy Mushroom soup that bonded well with your ta...
