Crimson Chakra, Adyar

My college friends and I met together in Crimson Chakra after a long time, as one of our friends was leaving for their Masters. Apart from fun-filled banter we engage in, we needed a place that offered the best and CC became the obvious choice, as we were looking for a place near Besant Nagar.
Our order consisted of:
Starters: Karuveppillai Urulai Varuval, Kaikari Urundai, Sutta Milagu Kozhi
Curries: Methi Malai Mutter, Murg Makhanwala,(and one more Chicken based curry recommended by the steward, whose name is eluding my memory. Refer pic).
Main Course: Bread basket, Smoked Chicken rice, Grilled Cheese, Potato and Herb Steak(I think so, not so sure, refer pic)

Starters:
Karuveppillai Urulai Varuval: Finger chips with a good coating of karuveppillai podi. Tasted great !
Kaikari Urundai: Vegetable balls basically. Loved it.
Sutta Milagu Kozhi: My friends made me taste this one, by raving about it ! And it was worth their raving. Another awesome dish.
Curries:
Methi Malai Mutter: This was Okish. Perhaps, I was expecting too much from the standards set by the starters.
Murg Makhanwala: I tasted the gravy alone and it was heavenly. My buddies raved about this one as well.
The other chicken curry whose name I forgot(it would be the last in their physical menu of curries), my friends loved that one too, but not as much as the Makhanwala. It was the clear winner among the curries.
Main Course:
Bread basket: The usual fare.
Smoked Chicken Rice: They loved it and that’s good enough for me(They all appreciate good food and trash bad food :P)
Grilled Cheese, Potato and Herb Steak(If that’s what this is): We were already feeling full by this time, so couldn’t enjoy this dish completely. But I took a few bites and it was enough to tell me that this is a dish worth trying out !
The steward was very friendly and patient when he helped us choose each and every item from the menu, explaining their specialty.
Overall, the bill came to Rs. 3070 for 4 people, which I felt is slightly pricey. But, because of the awesome food we had and the friendly service, it didn’t leave us with a bad taste.

Chili's, Royapettah

Chili’s comes to Chennai Following the trend of popular International restaurants chains opening up shop in the busy city of Chennai, Chili’s,a Tex Mex chain of restaurants recently opened their doors in Express Avenue, Royapettah. While Chili’s is not new to India, I guess this could very well be the first or one of the few Chili’s in the world that doesn’t serve Alcohol. Yes, the curse of No-Alcohol that Chennai places on every restaurant has affected Chili’s too. When I was first contacted by a friend of mine for a tasting session here, I wasn’t very sure. But on reading more about them, I was completely enamored and wanted to try them out. MC's Lunchbox, Porur

Update : Got a call from the MC’s Lunchbox team, assuring me that they’ll be taking corrective action on this issue and will keep training sessions for their delivery folks (who, it appears, are outsourced) to ensure this doesn’t happen. Keeping this in mind, updating my rating to reflect more on the food and less on the delivery. Food: 3.5/5 Delivery: 2.5/5 (For now). Personal opinion: Considering the efforts the team has taken to go through the feedback in detail, take corrective measures, and keep the customers informed about it, I’m more than willing to try MC’s Lunchbox again. ==================================================================== Tried out MC’s Lunchbox for dinner delivery last week, for 3 days.
