Pizza Hut, Aminjikarai(Ampa Skywalk)

Went here with my girl. After settling on the table we were directed to, we had to wait like 10 – 15 minutes to even get the Menu card. This was after me calling up the steward serving the adjacent table and asking him for it. We wanted to order the Weekend meal, but they simply said it’s not available.

I was like, “But why? Isn’t it supposed to be a weekend and shouldn’t the meal option be available?”. Not wanting to argue, I opted for the feast for 2, placed my orders and waited. The Peach flavored Ice Teas came first, which tasted just ok, nothing exciting there, even the ice tea I make at home using the Nestea mix tastes much better. The came the Paneer El Rancho pizza I ordered, along with the Onion Rings. The pizza was perfect, bread not too stale, perfectly cooked and tasted great. That was the only good thing in the so called feast. The onion rings were a complete disaster in my opinion. They tasted, well, I shouldn’t say ‘tasted’ here, as they had no taste at all. It was like eating something without any taste. Not salty or spicy or even sour. Not even the taste of onions ! They literally had no taste. Finally, we were again shocked with the bill. Feast for 2 is priced as Rs.599, but with all the extra taxes and charges, they managed to take it upto Rs.787 !!! That was a shock to me, because except for the pizza, the rest were pathetic. The only good feeling I got were the warm words our steward had written on the back of the bill.

Quantity: 4/5(Though pathetic, the quantity was good)

Go only if you don’t have other options.

Chili's, Royapettah

Chili’s comes to Chennai Following the trend of popular International restaurants chains opening up shop in the busy city of Chennai, Chili’s,a Tex Mex chain of restaurants recently opened their doors in Express Avenue, Royapettah. While Chili’s is not new to India, I guess this could very well be the first or one of the few Chili’s in the world that doesn’t serve Alcohol. Yes, the curse of No-Alcohol that Chennai places on every restaurant has affected Chili’s too. When I was first contacted by a friend of mine for a tasting session here, I wasn’t very sure. But on reading more about them, I was completely enamored and wanted to try them out. The review day came, and I duly caught an Uber and reached here by 1.02 PM for my 1.00 PM appointment (I know I’m getting too close to being punctual these days, oh the horror !) MC's Lunchbox, Porur

Update : Got a call from the MC’s Lunchbox team, assuring me that they’ll be taking corrective action on this issue and will keep training sessions for their delivery folks (who, it appears, are outsourced) to ensure this doesn’t happen. Keeping this in mind, updating my rating to reflect more on the food and less on the delivery. Food: 3.5/5 Delivery: 2.5/5 (For now). Personal opinion: Considering the efforts the team has taken to go through the feedback in detail, take corrective measures, and keep the customers informed about it, I’m more than willing to try MC’s Lunchbox again. ==================================================================== Tried out MC’s Lunchbox for dinner delivery last week, for 3 days. Chose the delivery time as 9 PM – 10 PM, as that’s when I’d like to have my dinner (and also because I work on the night shift). Food: The rotis are good, the gravies are passable.
